This paper presents a methodology for producing reports of an investigation or building inspection. The methodology covers all stages of the investigation from receiving instructions till the report is written. The focus is on ensuring that the report is clear to readers including those without technical expertise.

SUPREME COURT PRACTICE NOTE NO. 100

Practice Note No. 100

The NSW Supreme Court released Practice Note No. 100 effective 1 September 1998, applying to proceedings entered or to be entered in the Commercial List or in the Construction List (the "Lists")

Details of the Practice Note are available from the Govt. Bookstore as published by Butterworks and are precised below:

Schedule K

The NSW Supreme Court published Schedule K concerning an Expert Witness Code of Conduct.

The Practice Note provides for the transfer of proceedings from the Commercial Division to the Equity Division and the entry to the Commercial List. References to the Commercial Division in the Supreme Court Act 1970 will be omitted.

Construction List proceedings will remain in the Common Law Division but be dealt with by Judges of the Equity Division.

Practice Note No. 89 is superseded while Practice Notes No's 43, 46 & 63 will no longer apply to Construction List proceedings.

The Practice Note provides for circumstances where a party considers that compliance is not possible and requires that an alternative course of action be proposed.
