SHIRLEY, Andrew F 895 Pacific Highway, Company History Shirley Consulting Engineers Ply Ltd was established in 1974 to provide an integrated source of professional advice in Engineering and Geology. The firm was originally known as Andrew Shirley & Associates Pty Limited, but changed its name in 1994 to Shirley Consulting Engineers Pty Limited. The firm provides a total design and construction service for all aspects of ground engineering work, as well as undertaking forensic studies to determine the cause of ground structure failures [and related expert witness advice] site investigations and geotechnical work. The firm has made a special study of the geological interpretation of substrata, excavation & slope engineering, and is the Licensee for the patented "Integrated Support System" for excavations. Specialised field techniques have been developed to enable rapid economic, site investigations; state of the art computing facilities are also used to produce fully documented designs, drawings and specifications in a minimum time frame. The firm's laboratory [Testrite Laboratories Pty Ltd] acts as a separate commercial entity with facilities at Concord. The firm acts as consultants to various development and industrial groups, insurance companies, contractors, state and local government bodies, architectural and legal practices, as well as private individuals.
